My mother was a landscape painter, but for a very long time I was not. Painting en plein air got me started and I've been loving landscapes ever since. I now paint mostly in the studio, always working to convey the light and beauty of the landscape I study every day. I am very fortunate to live close to a rich, rural countryside and don't think I will ever exhaust the inspiration of it's subject matter. There's a universality to light on a meadow, snow in a marsh, or summer wildflowers (weeds!) crowding a hillside. These are the moments to keep for a lifetime.
